Rachel Rinker (they/them) (b. 1994) is an interdisciplinary artist and musician currently based in Phoenix, Arizona. From Goose Creek, South Carolina, Rinker earned their BFA from Clemson University in 2016, and is a first year MFA student at Arizona State University. Interested in exploring process, music, pedagogy and play, notions of interconnectedness, life cycles, accumulation, archive and entropy are recurring themes. Periods of rest balance energetic bursts of rhythmic, painterly movements and the unfurling of visually stimulating environments full of layered history and human connection; reflecting life as it is experienced in a nonlinear fashion - Like ever growing scrapbooks and run-on sentences of the present moment - cyclical and always subject to change.
